Coaches Hiring Process for PAID and Volunteer COACHES

Athletic Assistants PAID

 1-Complete the Athletic Assistant Coaches' Application Coaches must be at least 21 years old. 

 

2-AD's will send 2 forms to the District Athletics office (Freeze and EAA forms). Approximately, 5 days later, a Tracking number will be issued. 

 

3-Once the tracking number has been issued, please see our SAA, Office manager Ms Torres(Libra Academy) in the Welcome center to set up an appointment to process fingerprints.

 

4-Process fingerprints and submit paperwork.

 

For the appointment, coaches will need the following:

 

  1. Drivers license or Government issue photo ID. (passport or ID)
  2. Mantoux TB test, administered within 60 days of processing
  3. Social Security Card (must have the same name on SS card and driver's license)
  4. Completed Request for Personnel Action Form (RPA)-from Ms. Torres
  5. Nepotism Form- from Ms. Torres
  6. Proof of First Aid/CPR and AED from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
  7. Proof of Covid Vaccination  

There are dirrerent locations for Fingerprinting:

5- Coach will notify Athletic Director of a successful visit. May take up to 3 weeks to clear.

6- Complete the Fundamentals of Coaching Class. this coarse has a fee (non reimbursable)

12- Swim Coaches-Swimming Certification ( good for 2 years) 

 

  1. Once LAUSD approves background and fingerprints, a employee number will be issued.

15-Compleate First Aid/CPR and AED from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

17- Once an LAUSD email account has been established, go to the following website to access the last two exams: Child Abuse Prevention and Suicide Prevention. Click here and search for the trainings.  

 

18-Once you have completed all your certifications, upload them to https://www.homecampus.com/

and sign all documents--Coaches code of conduct, Out of Season Advisor, Acknowledgment of Suspected Child Abuse Reporting District Policy.

 

19- AD will Inform coaches if they are CLEARED to coach our Athletes before the start of the season.

*The test results will be read 48—72 hours after the initial test. If the test reads positive, you MUST have a chest X-ray. Please note that you must provide documentation that your skin test read positive.T.B. skin tests and chest x-rays must be taken and read within 60 days prior to your processing appointment. Make sure that you receive an original document showing the NEGATIVE TB results; you will need to submit the results at the processing appointment.

 

 

 

VOLUNTEER COACHES

 

Processing of Volunteer Coach

Effective December 19, 2022

 

 
Volunteer Coach must be 21 years of age at time of processing
Athletic Director or Volunteer coach will need to create an eRecruit profile with LAUSD prior to fingerprinting using this link for volunteer coaches

Enter the following information on the E-Recruit Profile.
Coaches Full Name on Drivers License and Social Security Card (name must match both documents)
Coaches’ Social Security Number
Email Address
Cell or home phone number, whichever is best to reach volunteer.
Home Address
Sport and high school where they will be volunteering
Paid coach must always be present when volunteer coach is coaching.
Once the volunteer coach creates an E-Recruit Profile, the coach will go to

Link 2  <------------and schedule date to fingerprint.

Fill out the required fields, clicking “Next” to move to the next page. Note that many of the fields are already filled out for you. There should be no fees associated with fingerprinting, so please double check that you have followed these steps so no fee is charged.
When you get to the location section, which asks for your desired fingerprint location, type in the zip code or address of the area where you would like to fingerprint. Take note of their hours of operation, required documents and health/safety precautions required.
Once volunteers have made an appointment, all volunteers and fingerprint location will receive a reminder by email and/or text message 24 hours prior to the appointment.
All volunteers will receive an ATI number after fingerprinting and they should save their receipt and provide the number upon request.
Three days after the fingerprints, School Administrator or Athletic Director will login to Principal’s Portal and under season of sport volunteer, list the coach, so LAUSD Athletics can check if their prints have cleared.
